Baby found outside strip club; father arrested
The Sun News (Myrtle Beach)
Posted: Friday, Oct. 17, 2008
A Myrtle Beach man was arrested after his baby was found inside a car in the parking lot of a local gentleman's club, according to a police report.
Geoffrey Allen Hale, 27, of 126 Whitehaven Circle, was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child after police were called at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday to Derriere's Gentleman's Club, the report said.
Hale, who the report said was getting a lap dance in the club, told police his wife was on stage dancing and that he was only there to get a cell phone from her, according to the report.
When Hale was arrested, the baby's 28-year-old mother came outside and took custody of her, the report showed.
Go over to Fun Shannon's Blog to see some pictures of Emily from this past weekend. Shannon came over to make place cards for my wedding. I helped a bit (but not really, I’m not super crafty) and Emily helped too!! I don’t know why, but I didn’t think to take a single picture. Luckily, Shannon is a picture taking guru! Go check out my cutie pie!
Emily is a “big girl” now. She insists when we get to day care that she walks in, rather than have me carry her. This morning I put her down on the sidewalk and she grabbed my hand to walk in. I guess she was in a good mood, because while she was walking, she started to bebop along the way. She was doing the head bob, the back and forth sway, the whole body was a movin’ and a grovin! I was laughing at her, and of course this made her do it even MORE until she fell over!! HA HA HA She was fine, but she stopped dancing after that!! It was pretty darn cute. I wish I had my camera out. It’s made my whole day happy today, to think of her dancing on the way into school! Love that kid!
I have so much going on right now…let me catch you up!
This is Colin, my nephew. Colin is 3. He is the coolest 3 year old I know. He is a total sweetie and he loves to swim and play outside. He also loves to watch Mickey Mouse Club House and sing The Wheels on the Bus. Colin also has autism. He was diagnosed about a year ago and his parents (my beautiful sister and BIL) have been getting him all the help he needs like speech therapy and the right doctors. It’s a lot of work for them, but he is worth it. And he is showing great signs of improvement. It’s very encouraging to all of us!
This weekend, we are all helping out Colin and kids just like him by participating in the Autism Ribbon Run 5K run/walk for the Autism Society of NC. It’s a great cause and I’m very excited to get to participate. My sister and BIL put together a great team of 33 people (WOW!) to walk for Colin this year. We’re calling ourselves Colin’s Crew. We used to joke when he was a baby that he needed a pit crew to keep him safe and clean and fed. But now we’re a different kind of crew. A whole, huge team of people who are here to support him as he battles this and to support his parents. Colin might not know it now, but he’s got fighters in his corner. We’re all going to be shouting tomorrow, because together we CAN figure out this condition and we CAN make a difference in his life. Wish us luck!
If you would like to make a donation to this great cause, you can do so HERE. I think you can pick Colin’s Crew as the team name. Thanks!
I’m planning on taking a ton of pictures, so tune in later this weekend!!
Don’t you think that a band should start to play every time you decide to not get the snickers bar out of the vending machine and instead eat the crummy old apple you brought instead? At the very least you should get a Gold Star to put up on a board or something!! Am I the only one that thinks I would eat better if an audience started clapping every time I made a better deicision?!?!
So I just looked down and realized that I have a giant glob of strawberry goo from Emily’s breakfast pop tart all over my boob. Ah the joys of motherhood.
The Race for the Cure on Saturday was amazing. Susan & I met up to take the train into downtown. I've never ridden it before, so that was kind of fun. When we got there, we walked and walked and finally found the thousands upon thousands of people who had all come out for this great cause. it was a bit crazy. There was pink everywhere! And teams of all shapes and sizes and guys in pink dresses running in memory of a loved one. It was awe inspiring. And sad, and empowering all at the same time. I just felt so ...moved. I'm so glad that we did it! Susan and I are all psyched to do it next year too!
It’s Friday!! It’s Friday!! Do the Happy Friday Dance!!
Don’t forget that Emily and I are Walking for the Cure tomorrow morning. You can still donate on my page. I know it’s hard times right now for everyone, but this organization does great things for women. (and let’s face it girls, we gotta take care of ourselves!) And plus, you get to put it on your taxes as a charitable donation. All good stuff!
Also on the agenda for this weekend, Mom is coming to help do wedding stuff tomorrow. Fun times! And she offered to babysit Miss Emily so Tony and I could have a date night tomorrow night. Hopefully, I won’t fall asleep in the movie theater since I’ll be getting up at a ridiculous hour tomorrow. And then on Sunday, fun Shannon is coming over to create the name cards for my reception dinner. She’s so crafty. I get to tie the ribbons, but she’ll do the actual work. LOL Isn’t she a nice girl?
It’s October already!! October is absolutely my favorite month out of the year. First, the weather is beeee u ti ful! I love it! I love the way the sky looks, I love the colors the trees turn, I like that I don’t sweat just walking from my office to the car. It’s fabulous. I also love love love HALLOWEEN! It’s my favorite holiday, because it is all good stuff, and no stress whatsoever. You just dress up and eat junk food. What’s not to love about that? And my new favorite reason to love October is that I’m GETTING MARRIED IN 3 WEEKS!! YIPPPEE!! The madness will soon be over!
