Harry Potter

I had a dream about Harry Potter fighting Lord V last night.  I’m so sad the books are done. There is a big Harry hole in my heart.

On the other hand, it’s Friday!   So I’ll try not to let my Harry depression sink in too deep!!

Let's Try Again

I’m feeling more talkative bloggish lately, so I thought I would try again. It’s not really a comeback, not yet anyways.

Emily is talking up a storm. It is a bit shocking truth be told.  She went from knowing several words to just talking all the time. She says 3 words together all the time now.

Mommy, come on!   Daddy, sit down!  Puppy, no, stop!  ( Notice how they are all still in the form of directives).  We’re trying very hard to get some manners into her. We can usually get her to say “please” but I’m not having much luck with “thank you”.   Still, I’m not giving up yet.

We’ve been sick on the home front. Tony is getting over bronchitis, and today is going to the doc for a possible ear infection.  My dizziness/fainting spells have calmed down considerably after visiting my doc last week and rearranging some of medications.  It is a relief to not feel like I’m going to fall into something all the time.   A BIG relief. It really stresses me out to be dizzy. It wipes me out physically and then I feel guilty for not being able to do all the things I think I should do, like walk up stairs unassisted, or stand still and change Emily’s clothes while standing up, or go the grocery store alone.  You’d think these are easy tasks, but some days for me they are like asking me to run a marathon.   Learning to live with a debilitating condition is not an easy thing to do. And since I “appear” to be fine physically, other than a little pudgy, a lot of people write me off as a head case.  You LOOK fine, therefore you ARE fine.  Not so. It is hard to live with some days, but I know I’m not a nutter, so that helps a bit.  Plus, you can’t fix stupid.  So I’m trying to let go what I must look like to total strangers when I lie down in the middle of Kohl’s.  The good thing is that people who know me in real life get it and that’s all that really matters. Tony is an absolute Godsend some days.  (well I mean, I like him every day, but some days he just is very helpful)  I couldn’t manage without him a lot of times, and I know it. It’s nice to have someone get your back like that.

Other than that, we’re still here being us. We are very glad that it’s springtime, and Emily has been excited to see some of our flowers come up and bloom. “Pretty flower Mommy” is something I hear a lot!  The warmer weather is welcome too, as I’m not a fan of the cold at all. I love spring time here. It’s beautiful and warm and makes me happy on the inside.   As soon as all of us are better, we’ll start taking walks in the evening around the neighborhood again, and I’m very much looking forward to that.

Em's 2 Year Check Up

Emily had her 2 year check up today. Everything seems to be going well.  Her stats:

Weight 27lbs

Height 33 inches

Talking and motor skills are right on track. The doc was pleased and I’m a happy Momma.  The best part, she didn’t cry when she got her one shot today. YAY!!!
