OOOH AHHH, I get Crafty!

I love Etsy.  If you have never checked this site out, I strongly recommend that you dig out your Paypal password and start looking. It’s a site for handmade EVERYTHING. And I do mean everything.  Clothes, shoes, hairbows, glasses, kicknacks, whatever.  Whatever you want, someone makes it and sells it on Etsy.  Anyways, I was looking for something to hold Emily’s massive amounts of hair bows.  I’m a sucker for Girly Girl Bowtique, and I have bought tons and tons of pretty hair bows there for Emily over the last year. (I actually have an order in right now, for fun July 4th hair bows!)  Anyways,  we have so many and we can never seem to find them when we need them, so I was looking for a hair bow holder.  I found one on Etsy that was super cute, but $40.  I looked at it and looked at it and said, hey, I could totally do that.  So yesterday I ran to about 3 stores and bought supplies and made my own!  It was really easy, and if I’m saying it then it’s for sure a truth.  The toughest part was learning to use the staple gun.  Squeezing it is fine, but lining it up right was trickier. Also, I probably didn’t need the ½ inch staples I bought.  ¼ inch would have done fine, but I didn’t realize staples came in sizes until I got home.  Oh well.

Anyways, I made it all myself and am super proud.   And it only cost me $65. HA HA HA… Of course, I have enough supplies to make about 3 more of these, so if someone wants one, let me know!

Our Friday Morning

Well we woke up super early this morning. By WE I mean Emily.  I’m not known for my morning personality.  Anyways, seeing as how we got up early AND there was literally no milk, cereal, bread or juice in the house, I decided to go to Dunkin Donuts with my girl. J   She was sooo excited!  Course, that chocolate donut is about as big as her head, so I can see how that would be exciting!

She got bit pretty badly by some mosquitoes yesterday at daycare.   I foolishly thought it was too early in the year for them, so I’ll have to buy some bug spray tonight.  She will be probably hosed down with chemicals before going to school from now on!!   On the way to school, Emily kept asking me about mosquitoes.  Why Mommy? Why’d they bite me?  I told her she was too tasty and they wanted to eat her.  She goes, “ ewwww, let’s go get those skeetoes!! I don’t LIKE them Mommy!”     I told her they were hard to get because they fly.  Why? Why they fly?  I finally got her to be ok with the fact that although mosquitoes fly, SHE could swim and they couldn’t and that was better.

I’m going to have to keep my creativity up. I can see that now!!

WHY?

Well, it’s finally happened: we have officially entered the WHY phase.  It’s about to kill me. We have a 9 min ride from the house to day care in the morning. I swear to God that she asks me why? About 45 times on that trip.  That’s 5 per minute y’all!!

How did you guys handle this?  I try to just state facts, but a lot of times she just repeats the question, like the answer I gave was faulty!!  LOL  It’s cute, but in an annoying way!  Any tips??

Emily is Funny!

Emily has been cracking us up lately. She is sooo funny. And she gets a big kick out of making us laugh.  Here are few funny things she’s said lately I want to remember.

Last night I was laughing in the car with her, she kept singing and it was just cute.  Anyways she looks at me and goes “I’m KILLING you Mommy!”  HA HA HA HA

The other day I put her on the potty and I was like, go on, go pee pee and she looks at me and goes RELAX Mommy. HA HA HA

She loves to dance to Selena Gomez (I know, I know, insert eye roll here)  She’ll be dancing and then look at me and go “come on Mommy, shake your bootie!”

She got vaccinated at the doctor’s office.  She told everyone at school “I got shot!”

She really just cracks up all the time.  I love to hear her say, I silly Mommy. Or Daddy make a happy face!  She’s such a joyful child. I love her so much!
